There are charging cables, and then there are charging cables that have survived the bottom of your handbag, the passenger footwell, being wound around a power bank 47 times, getting caught under the couch and — in our case — the occasional encounter with a rabbit.

Bunnyproof is the latter.

Our signature charging cable is wrapped in flexible metal armour, making it considerably tougher than the soft plastic cables we’re all used to replacing. It’s tangle-resistant, pet-resistant and made for everyday life, with a flexible rose-gold finish that happens to look rather nice while doing it.

Originally designed in Auckland, New Zealand after our own rabbits made a habit of destroying ordinary charging cables, Bunnyproof took around a year of trial and error to get right. Today, they’re ethically manufactured for us in Hong Kong and shipped to our US customers from our California fulfilment centre.

We use them ourselves — at home, beside the bed, in bags, in the car and everywhere in between — and ours last a long time.

No cable is completely indestructible, and we wouldn’t recommend presenting one to a particularly determined rabbit as an enrichment activity. But if you’re tired of flimsy cables fraying, tangling, splitting and mysteriously dying on you, this one’s built to put up a much better fight.
